About Michael Arntz
Michael Arntz combines his years of experience as a musician with his training as a ballroom dance teacher to help beginning students learn how to dance to the music with skill and ease. His patience and expertise help students feel comfortable about learning to dance for the first time. He is accomplished in many styles of dancing, including Argentine Tango, Ballroom, Rueda de Casino, Swing and Salsa. He began by completing teacher training through private lessons and Diane Jarmolow's Ballroom Teachers College. where he was certified with high honors as a professional dance instructor through ProDVIDA.
Michael Arntz and Karen Lile are dance partners and co-teachers. He and Karen have traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina and Montreal, Canada for training in tango and have studied extensively the moves of Rueda de Casino from Miami and Cuba and from Swing dancers from around the world to bring an ongoing variety of moves to their students.
Michael is a DJ with extensive libraries in salsa, swing, tango, contemporary music and ballroom music. He is often the DJ at Live Shows at Ashkenaz, providing music between the live sets and he often DJs for private parties and weddings.
Karen and Michael work with Building Bridges, a Walnut Creek based non-profit organization on several projects.
Michael and Karen are also Share the Love Project Artists. Individuals who commission them to create a dance choreography for their wedding or special event are connected to tax deduction benefits and opportunities to serve the community through this project.
